Big claim? Maybe.

But I started Project InterestED because I believe our children, communities, and countries need an education revolution and purpose-driven learning is a key part of that change.

Who am I?

My name is Leah Berry.

I have two sons and homeschooled both of them. Even though they are now both in university working on bachelor and advanced degrees, I look back at their learning journeys and wish I knew then what I know now.

One of the most critical lessons I learned was that because they were two very different individuals, their learning paths needed to be different also.

Unfortunately, our schools today are focused on standardized learning and testing. They ignore the fact that each child is unique and needs their own custom learning journey. Instead, they tell them what to learn, when to learn it, and how to learn it. And then everyone seems surprised that most kids don't enjoy learning anymore.

Children are natural born learners. Just look at how much they learn in their first few years without any formal teaching. But then we put them in school, tell them to sit still, be quiet, and regurgitate information. It crushes their curiosity.

But it doesn't have to be that way.

Project InterestEd is for parents who want to help their children be excited about learning.
